Found in the dairy aisle, Sauté Express® Sauté Starter comes in easy-to-use, pre-measured, butter-based squares that provide simple, toss-in-the-pan convenience.

Simply melt one Sauté Express® square in a non-stick pan over medium-low heat. Add any protein, such as chicken, fish or pork. Sauté until meat is thoroughly cooked.

Can Sauté Express® Sauté Starter be used in baking, or is it best used in savory applications? Back To Top

Sauté Express® Sauté Starter should not be used in any baking applications as it is designed for cooking meat or fish in a skillet.

Can I cook Sauté Express® Sauté Starter in the oven? Back To Top

Oven preparation is not recommended for Sauté Express® Sauté Starter. It is specifically formulated to cook on the stovetop.

What size and type of sauté pan should I use when working with Sauté Express® Sauté Starter? Back To Top

When cooking with Sauté Express® Sauté Starter, it is always best to use a non-stick sauté pan. When choosing the size, use the smallest pan your meat or recipe will fit in. We find that a 10” skillet works perfectly for about one pound of meat. If you are going to add other ingredients to pan later in the cooking process, a larger pan may be required.

It is best to always keep Sauté Express® Sauté Starter in the refrigerator until ready to use. Because one of the primary ingredients in Sauté Express is butter, it will soften at room temperature.

Does Sauté Express® Sauté Starter contain artificial colors and preservatives? Back To Top

No, this product does not contain any artificial colors or artificial preservatives.

How long does Sauté Express® Sauté Starter last? Back To Top

Sauté Express® Sauté Starter should be refrigerated and should be used by the "Best if Used By" date since it is a dairy product. We encourage consumers to store it in an airtight container once the overwrapped plastic has been removed to maintain freshness.

Can I freeze Sauté Express® Sauté Starter? Back To Top

Sauté Express® Sauté Starter may be frozen for up to two months provided you freeze it before the expiration date. We suggest storing the package in an airtight re-sealable plastic bag for freshest quality. Use the squares right from the freezer or allow them to thaw in the refrigerator. When using right from the freezer, melt the square slowly over medium heat.

Because one of the primary ingredients is butter, it has similar cooking properties and will burn if cooked over too high of heat.
