Here Comes the Bride Bars

Big changes are in store for my family: this spring my younger sister will marry her high school sweetheart. Then in the summer, our brother and his girlfriend will tie the knot. Two weddings in four months! Crazy, right? These weeks of preparation have been hectic with planning and jam-packed with parties. We have so much to celebrate!

St. Patrick’s Day Means Irish Mist Brownies

Although I only have a “drop” of Irish blood in my ancestry, I still enjoy celebrating St. Patrick’s Day which, by the way, falls on March 17. Living in St. Paul, MN means St. Patrick’s Day gets lots of attention. The city of St. Paul was settled, in part, by Irish immigrants and still boasts a population of approximately 13% Irish according to the 2005-2007 American Community Survey. There are numerous celebrations including a large parade each St. Paddy’s Day and I, for one, never miss a chance to have fun!

It is certainly possible to satisfy a sweet tooth without chocolate. Some people actually prefer a tart fruit bar, a treat with nuts and caramel, or other non-chocolate treats.

Caramel is a fabulous option — nothing satisfies like the rich taste of bars or cookies drizzled or layered with buttery caramel, such as our Caramel Praline Walnut Bars. Fruits, such as coconut, banana, berry or citrus, offer wonderful options for indulging. Try our Creamy Lime Coconut Bars and see for yourself. Vanilla should not be overlooked — the subtle sweetness of a crisp butter cookie on a lazy afternoon can't be beat. Might we suggest our Vanilla Bean Sugar Cookies?

Enjoy!

What a fun idea! An abundance of chocolate sounds like a great way to put everyone in a charitable mood.

You'll be sure to satisfy every type of chocolate craving by offering this irresistible variety of treats. Encourage donations with decadent Gooey Chocolate Cashew Bars or delightful Bittersweet Chocolate Tartlets. Slices of Glazed Chocolate Mini Loaves are sure to get them giving.

Best of luck with your Chocolate Fest!

Teachers truly appreciate the effort it takes to create homemade treats, so make them smile and surprise them with something just a little different this holiday season.

Bite-size Cappuccino Caramels are chewy indulgence with a touch of coffee. Toffee Cardamom Nuts spice up a seasonal favorite. Or give them their own special project with Triple Chocolate Fudge Brownie Mix. Package your treats in a festive bag, add a bow and a tiny tag — in your best handwriting, of course!
