Every year during the holidays, our neighborhood has a progressive dinner. Each course is at a different home, from hors d'oeuvres and soup or salad, to the main course and dessert. I'd love some ideas!

I love progressive dinners! It's so fun to go from house to house for different courses of the meal. And, it's easy to make something fantastic when you focus on just one part of the dinner.

If you're hosting the appetizer part of the meal, try something savory, like Smoked Salmon Cheesecake. As a host house for the main dish, make something easy to serve to a group -- like irresistible Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff or perhaps a lasagna. Dessert can be something decadent and festive for the holidays. Everyone will love our Ultimate Turtle Dessert.

Try one of these great recipes, and pass the others around to neighbors looking for ideas. You'll have something delicious to rave about every step of the way through dinner.

I have two granddaughters ages 7 and 14 and I am toying with the idea of having them come for a spend-the-night party. I will need things in the kitchen that will be quick and easy to prepare, as I intend to let them do the cooking! What would you suggest for supper and snacks for the party? They both have helped me cook.

What a special time for you and your granddaughters. Having them do the cooking is a splendid idea, and we've found three simple recipes they'll enjoy making and eating.

For starters, they can make Alphabet Breadsticks — an easy snack made with refrigerated bread dough, melted butter and salad dressing mix. While they're enjoying their breadsticks with a glass of milk, they can assemble and bake Everyone's Favorite Pizza. For a special treat after dinner, they'll love to make their own Ice Cream Filled Chocolate Cups, using chocolate cereal cups you make before they arrive. What fun!
