My family loves making (and eating) pizza. If I have time, I’ve been known to make my own dough and even cook them on the grill. Weeknights, when time and energy are short, I rely on pre-made flatbreads topped with whatever looks good in the fridge.

For the past 5 years, I have served as "Cookie Mom" for my daughter’s Girl Scout Troop. As the "Cookie Mom", or "Cookie Momster", as my kids have coined me, I am responsible for placing our troop’s order, picking up the cookies, sorting the boxes and overseeing the sale.

We love to walk to the coffee shop a few blocks away, but it can be pricey to take a family of four out for lattés and muffins. It was an especially rainy day, so instead of going out I decided to bake a treat and brew coffee at home.

It’s graduation time, and my youngest daughter is graduating from her K-8 school this spring. The school holds a ceremony and provides a cake, and the parents fill in the dessert buffet with other treats and snacks.

Springtime always makes me eager to get off the couch and enjoy the great outdoors. Our family acquired camping gear a few years back and spent a summer trying out the varied attractions of our state parks.

So... Preschool... It’s a busy time learning the basics! The big ticket item right now? Learning how to write the alphabet. I happen to have a very active 4-year old boy that is having a hard time visualizing how the letters are created.

Ever have one of those days? I need to be cloned... there are too many places to go and things to do! Both boys have ball games tonight (after a long day at school and full days of work for both the hubby and me) so we need a quick, healthy meal to make sure they don’t melt down on the ball field.

This past week, my childhood best friend was visiting from Washington DC and I decided to throw a party in her honor. I wanted her to meet some of my friends and neighbors, and of course, their children. I scheduled the party and began my search for a great dinner party recipe.

Asparagus, bacon, cheese and eggs. If you think these ingredients sound delicious, wait until they’re combined in a Springtime Quiche and encased in a homemade chive -flavored crust.

Depending on where you live, spring is starting to show its colors. Living in Minnesota, we spend what seems like an eternity with snow and cold. It can sometimes feel like they drag on forever! But lately, we’ve had a welcome change in the weather- it hit the 70’s this past weekend!
