‘Not Just Another Sunday’ Breakfast

Nothing says “family” more in our home than a big Sunday breakfast!  As a store manager for the local Home Depot, my husband Jeremy typically works crazy retail hours.  Sunday, however, is the only day of the week when the girls and I have him all to ourselves.  So to celebrate, we always make a  family breakfast.  Whether it’s pancakes with sausage or biscuits with gravy, it’s all about spending time together! I have always adored shrimp.  Even as a child I loved shrimp.  I remember going out to “fancy” restaurants as a young girl with my grandparents and I always ordered shrimp.  Oh, and then there are artichokes; another favorite of mine.  I was fortunate to grow up in a family that ate a wide variety of foods – including artichokes.  And, cheese – who doesn’t love cheese?  (more…)

Leaving cookies and milk out for Santa was a really big deal when my boys were little.  We also had to leave a carrot for Rudolph.  There was only one kind of cookie that the boys wanted to leave for Santa and that was a frosted butter cookie. (more…)
