About: Amanda

I'm a twenty-something girl-on-the-go. By day, I'm a full-time graphic designer, but by night, my husband, Ryan, and I love to entertain. Because our jobs and other commitments don't leave much time for elaborate meals, Ryan and I work together to explore quick, tasty recipes that can be easily made in larger quantities for when we have friends over or want to save for yummy lunch left-overs. My personal favorites include Mexican food, just about anything grilled and great desserts - as long as there is chocolate involved!

Truth be told, I didn't cook much growing up – my mom was just so darn good at it that I didn’t attempt much cooking until I was out on my own. She did, however, teach me my most valuable cooking lesson: Don't ever be afraid to try. Recipes are guidelines, not rules! And cooking is an adventure when you are comfortable testing new things. Because of my Mom, I believe that there is no "failure" when you cook or bake - you just learn tips to improve your dish (or recipe selection) for the next time.

Beyond my own heritage of food-lovers, I'm also blessed to have married into a talented foodie family. You may have already learned in the "About Becky" section that she is my fabulous mother-in-law! Becky is a wealth of knowledge and a life-saver when I stumble upon the inevitable cooking dilemma.

So if you’re like me and just learning how exciting cooking and baking can be – have no fear! We’re in this together. I’m looking forward to trying new recipes with you and sharing in your successes!
