About: Cindy


Each day is different and exciting in my role as the as the Land O'Lakes Test Kitchens home economist responsible for food and recipe content as well as day-to-day web site management. My passion and excitement to incorporate new communication tools like blogs and online communities grows each day. My days are busy and so, on a daily basis convenience at breakfast and dinner are part of my repertoire of recipes. It is crucial that I keep a well stocked pantry and freezer as I prepare the weeknight evening meal for my husband, Bill, and myself.

Our family has grown after raising three sons. We now have “daughters,” (our son's wives), and seven grandchildren, all aged seven and under. It gives me great joy when I spend time together with even the 2-year old in the kitchen making chocolate chip cookies. The spatula is his baton of authority. Those experiences, I hope, are only a beginning of the many cooking and baking adventures yet to come.

An interest in recipes and food began many years ago as a pre-schooler when I would take my personal cookbook on Saturday morning and make scrambled eggs for my dad. I have my mom, who was an incredible cook and baker, to thank for my interest in cooking and baking. I continually strive to perfect her famous apple pie and Swedish meatballs. My days are filled with food and recipes. But, even on weekends my relaxation comes when I can knead bread or continue to practice making an apple pie like my mom’s.
