Hazelnuts and orange blend to make these sophisticated, yet simple bars.

teaspoon baking powder |

cup sweetened flaked coconut |

cup finely chopped hazelnuts Powdered sugar |
Heat oven to 350°F. Combine 2 cups flour, 1/2 cup sugar and 1 tablespoon orange peel in large bowl. Cut in butter with pastry blender or fork until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press onto bottom of ungreased 13x9-inch baking pan. Bake for 20 to 22 minutes or until light golden brown.
Meanwhile, combine all filling ingredients
except coconut, hazelnuts and powdered sugar in large bowl; mix well. Stir in coconut.
Pour over hot, partially baked crust. Sprinkle with hazelnuts. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until center is set. Cool completely. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
Recipe Tip
Hazelnuts, also called filberts, are sold with the brown outer skin removed or with it still on the nut. Since the skin has a bitter flavor, look for nuts that already have the skin removed. If you purchase hazelnuts that still have a skin, bake them at 350°F. for 10 to 15 minutes or until the skins begin to flake. Place the warm nuts, a handful at a time, in a clean dish towel and rub to remove most of the skin.
