BACON CHEESEBURGER PIZZA

A hearty pizza for the cheese and bacon lover!

Yield: 6 servings 


1   medium (1/2 cup ) onion, chopped
1/2   pound lean ground beef
1/2   teaspoon pepper
3/4   cup pizza sauce
1   (12-inch) round pizza crust, baked*
6   ounces (1 1/2 cups) LAND O LAKES® Deli Cheddar Cheese, shredded
6   ounces (1 1/2 cups) LAND O LAKES® Deli Mozzarella Cheese, shredded
6   slices crisply cooked bacon, crumbled
  Dill pickles


Heat oven to 400°F. Cook onion, ground beef and pepper in 8-inch skillet over medium-high heat until meat is no longer pink (8 to 12 minutes). Drain off fat.

Add pizza sauce. Reduce heat to low. Cook 5 minutes.

Place baked pizza crust on ungreased 12-inch pizza pan or baking sheet. Top crust with ground beef mixture, Cheddar cheese, Mozzarella cheese and bacon.

Bake for 8 to 12 minutes or until cheese is melted. Let stand 5 minutes before slicing. Serve with dill pickles.

* Use your favorite baked pizza crust. Suggested crusts: refrigerated pizza crust, frozen bread dough, pizza crust mixes, ready-to-eat bread shells.

MAKE-AHEAD TIP:

Cook beef mixture ahead of time. Cool. Cover; refrigerate up to 2 days. Heat oven to 400°F approximately 20 minutes before serving time. Continue preparing pizza as directed above.

VARIATION:

Football Pizza.
Form 1 (1-pound) loaf thawed frozen bread dough into 16x10x1/4-inch football shape. (Push dough gently from center to edges with greased hands.) Prick dough all over with fork. Let rise 10 minutes. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Place toppings on baked crust as directed above.
