These chocolate-peanut butter bars are reminiscent of buckeye candies.

Heat oven to 350°F. Melt 1 cup butter and baking chocolate in 1-quart saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly, until smooth (2 to 3 minutes). Set aside.
Combine sugar and eggs in large bowl; beat until thick and lemon-colored. Add flour and melted chocolate mixture; beat until well mixed.
Pour batter into ungreased 15x10x1-inch jelly-roll pan. Bake for 22 to 26 minutes until brownie is set. Cool completely.
Combine peanut butter and 1/2 cup butter in medium bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy. Reduce speed to low; add powdered sugar and milk. Beat until well mixed. Spread over cooled brownie layer. Cover; refrigerate until firm (1 hour).
Melt chocolate chips and shortening in 1-quart saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly, until smooth (1 to 2 minutes). Drizzle mixture over peanut butter layer. Refrigerate until chocolate is set (30 minutes). Cut into bars. Store refrigerated.
