I was running short of time so I let the baked pumpkin cool flat on the towel and then cut it in 3 pieces and layered it will the filling!! SO EASY if you are afraid of making a pumpkin roll! and always a hit!!
Fantastic treat to have for Thanksgiving week. I also make toasted cinnamon pecans to sprinkle over the roll and around the serving plate, which adds a nice autumn flavor to it as well.
I make about 10 of these every Thanksgiving and the people I give them to ask for more

i added 2-4 drops of orange extract instead of vanilla, and it was excellent, made it seem a little "lighter" when eating it, and sooo refreshing.

Love this recipe! I made my first pumpkin roll on Monday and it turned out fantastic! It was trial run for Thanksgiving. I have my freshly made pumpkin roll for tomorrow cooling. I had a slight crack but nothing that was too noticeable. I will master this without the cracks eventually! My boys who are super picky gave this rave reviews. Yum!

Always wanted to make pumkin rolls but was afarid it was to hard. I made this recipe today they turn out awesome. They were alot easier to roll then I thought took some advice from some of the other comments has np problem with the filling gushing out.
This cake was delicious!! I made it for Thanksgiving, and there was none left. However, I only added 2/3 cups sugar to the cake, and added an extra 1/4 cup pumpkin. Also, for the frosting, I added a little more milk to make it more creamy. It was very good and delicious though.

I have been making these for years! I make several for the holidays starting with Thanksgiving and freeze them, this makes slicing so much easier. I can slice off what I need and keep the rest frozen, doesn't take long for it to thaw and be enjoyed. One thing is that the cake always cracks, sometime splitting completely when unrolling, not sure why but it doesn't affect the flavor
I have been making these pumpkin rolls for years. I add crushed walnuts to some for a twist. I slice them and freeze them so that they can be pulled out and thawed with ease.

I have beeen making this for years - my family requests it instead of pumpkin pie. It freezes well and since a large can o pumpkin makes many rolls, I usually have one in the freezer from Thanksgiving until after Christmas.
THis is really not difficult to make, just time consuming. Preparation of the pans and towels before beginning is key. 1 Large can of Libby's pumpkin makes 5 rolls.
I have been doing this roll for about 8 years and my kids love it. Gotta watch the calories though. Definitely not for a low fat diet. I also freeze my sliced rolls and put them in Tupperware to protect flavor. They come out awesome with a little defrost and are even great a little frozen.

This recipe is AMAZING and a great alternative to the traditional pumpkin pie. It's now become a family tradition and I've been told that I MUST make these during the holidays. The count to make this year is a minimum of 5! The only downside is that the roll is a bit tricky to perfect, but with a recipe this good, no one really cares what it looks like.

Easy to make, and spices were just right!
Tips for ease: Use a 100% cotton flat wrinkle free kitchen dish towel. Using a sifter, cover the towel liberally with powdered sugar--about 1/4 inch. The more powdered sugar on the towel, the easier it is to unroll the pumpkin roll without cracks. Make sure you allow the roll to cool for at least 30 to 35 minutes before unrolling. If the roll should crack...not to worry....sprinkle the roll with powdered sugar and nobody will see the crack.
I have made this pumpkin roll many times. It is requested often at family gatherings and work parties. The first time I made it I was concerned how strong the pumpkin flavor would be. I'm a fan of pumpkin bread, but don't care for the overpowering flavor/texture like in a traditional pumpkin pie. It passed with flying colors. Can't get enough of it!!!

A very simple and sweet treat that was basic to make,and not too complicated to make.The filling is very sweet,and I did double mine to add extra filling.My grandchildren who are all under 6 loved this roll.
When I have made Pumpkin roll, I have baked 5 rolls at a time and freeze some of the rolls. When I have company I just take it out of the freezer thaw it and serve. My guests and family really love it.
