Ingredients

Cookie

3/4 cup Land O Lakes® Butter, softened

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar

1 large Land O Lakes® Egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

4 ounces unsweetened baking chocolate, melted, cooled slightly

1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

Topping

Decorator sugar and/or candies

48 milk chocolate candy pieces

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Combine butter, 1/2 cup sugar and brown sugar in bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy. Add egg, vanilla and melted chocolate; continue beating until well mixed. Add flour, baking soda and salt; beat at low speed until well mixed.

  2. STEP 2

    Divide dough in half; wrap in plastic food wrap. Refrigerate about 2 hours or until firm.

    Heat oven to 375°F.

    Roll teaspoonfuls of dough into 1-inch balls. Place, 2 inches apart, onto ungreased cookie sheets. Press ball to about 1/8 inch with glass dipped in sugar; sprinkle with decorator sugars or candies. Bake 7-9 minutes or until set and cookies just begin to crack. Immediately press 1 chocolate candy piece in center of each cookie. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheets; remove to cooling rack. Cool completely.
