This chocolate cookie, shaped like a witch's hat, will be bewitching on a Halloween cookie tray.
Combine butter, 1/2 cup sugar and brown sugar in bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy. Add egg, vanilla and melted chocolate; continue beating until well mixed. Add flour, baking soda and salt; beat at low speed until well mixed.
Divide dough in half; wrap in plastic food wrap. Refrigerate about 2 hours until firm.
Heat oven to 375°F.
Roll teaspoonfuls of dough into 1-inch balls. Place 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Press ball to about 1/8 inch with glass dipped in sugar; sprinkle with decorator sugars or candies. Bake 7-9 minutes or until set and cookies just begin to crack. Immediately press 1 chocolate kiss in center of each cookie. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheets; remove to cooling rack. Cool completely..
