This moist, dense cake is topped with marshmallows and chocolate frosting.

I've been making this cake for a long time now. Its very sweet but oh so YUMMY! Just wanted to give my version of frosting the cake......first, I spread the marshmallows on top of the hot cake then I melt the butter in a saucepan, mix in the cocoa and then the milk. Heat until hot but not boiling. Add the powered sugar and vanilla. Stir until all powered sugar is dissolved. If you have lumps, you can use a hand mixer right in the pan to smooth them out. Usually its hot enough to dissolve though. Then pour the hot frosting over top the marshmallows. This eliminates having to put the cake back in the oven to melt the marshmallows. They melt between the hot cake and the hot frosting. You can Leave as is or swirl the marshmallows into the frosting. The frosting will firm up as it cools. I sometimes poke a whole walnut or pecan (whichever one you're using) into the frosting for each serving square. I love having a piece while its still warm! I've also warmed a piece in the microwave just until you see the frosting and marshmallow start to melt over! YUMMY! This sounds long, but really is very simple!
The cake and frosting have a good flavor, but way too sweet. It would be much better with a cake that's not so sweet.
This is incredibly sweet. Made it for a sports banquet so I'm sure the boys will enjoy it, but I think if I were to make again, I would definitely need to make some adjustments to the sweetness level.
This is a easy recipe to prepare. I made it for our annual dessert exchange. The ladies loved it. It is moist and delicious. Enjoy
I make these all the time. Our family and friends love them. I bake them for much less time--23-25 minutes or until a few crumbs remain on the toothpick. They're done after the 3 minute baking time for the marshmallows. They're too dry otherwise.
Very good. I prefer a moist cake and this is perfect!!!
