These delicious muffins combine the taste of French toast and maple syrup.QUIZ ANSWER: A maple tree will yield 10–20 gallons of sap each season, and it takes 40–50 gallons of sap to produce one gallon of syrup. So, you’d have to tap two or three trees to produce one gallon of syrup.
Heat oven to 375°F. Grease 12-cup muffin pan; set aside.
Combine all French toast topping ingredients in bowl; set aside.
Combine 1 cup milk, melted butter, 1 egg and maple flavoring in another bowl. Combine all remaining muffin ingredients in bowl. Stir milk mixture into flour mixture just until mixed.
Spoon batter evenly into prepared pan. Spoon French toast topping evenly over batter; press down slightly. Bake 20-25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Brush muffins immediately with maple syrup. Combine sugar and cinnamon in bowl. Sprinkle over glazed muffins. Cool 5 minutes; remove from pan. Serve warm.

These are amazing! I noticed that I needed more french toast topping. I made a second batch of it and it worked perfectly! The sugar was just enough imo. They taste just like french toast. And were good later that day too. I thought they may only be good hot and just out of the oven, but no, they were a good evening snack, too.
Made these for a birthday brunch-Fantastic! Served with regular butter but will try the maple butter next time. The only change I made was a bit more cinnamon in the sugar topping and next time, I would reduce the amount of sugar as I had a lot leftover and I had generously topped each one. Other than that, these are a great and impressive treat!
Absolutely delicious. I baked these as a get well soon treat for my boyfriend and he loved them. They might just be my new favorite muffin.
