Your guests will be raving about this chocolate cheesecake for days!
Heat oven to 325°F.
Combine all crust ingredients in bowl. Press onto bottom of ungreased 9-inch springform pan. Bake 4 minutes.
Beat cream cheese and 1/4 cup sugar in bowl until creamy. Add melted chocolate, eggs and vanilla; beat until well mixed. Stir in 3/4 cup toffee bits. Spread cream cheese mixture over crust. Continue baking 50-55 minutes or until center is set. Cool 1 hour in pan. Remove from pan; place onto serving plate.
Place chocolate chips in bowl. Place whipping cream in small saucepan; cook over medium heat 2-3 minutes until mixture comes to a boil. Pour whipping cream over chocolate chips. Let stand 5 minutes; stir until smooth. Cool about 1 hour until mixture falls in ribbons off spoon. Spread over top of cheesecake; sprinkle outer rim of cheesecake with 1/4 cup toffee bits. Cover; refrigerate 4 hours or overnight.

This was a lovely dessert, but I don't care for the toffee bits. I prefer a smooth truffle. I love coffee desserts so I added 2 tsp instant coffee granules to the crust and to the topping, and for a special flavor, I substituted 2 tsp rum extract for the vanilla. This is much more to my liking as the coffee seems to cut down on the sweetness as well as give it the flavor that I enjoy. I will be making several of these to give as gifts for the holidays.
I made this for Easter. It's fabulous! My husband said it's the best dessert I have ever made!
I am so glad I tried this recipe. This was the first time I ever made a cheesecake. It was very easy to make, and the the taste and texture are fantastic! The ganache topping is an extra bonus. My friends and family loved it. I will definitely make this cheesecake again!
FANTASTIC SEEMS COMPLICATED, BUT JUST FLOWS ALONG. THE BEST IN A LONG TIME
Check spelling on the above mentioned recipe. Sound wonderful and I am going to try and make it.
yum yum....make it just like they say to do....will be a party desert for a long time...
MY GUEST'S LOVED IT. FOR ME, IT'S TOO RICH AND TOO CHOCOLATY. THE ONLY TIME I WOULD MAKE THIS AGAIN IS IF A FRIEND OF MINE REQUESTED IT. SOMETIME'S SHE HAS ME BAKE OR MAKE HER DESSERT'S FOR HER WHEN SHE IS HAVING GUEST'S.JCB
This cake looks beautiful! Everyone loved it but I found it a tad too rich and I'm a chocolate lover. I might try it again with a blend of white or milk chocolate. I'll definitely use this crust with my other cheesecake recipes - it's amazing; it cuts beautifully, doesn't crumble or break.
Excellent!!!!!!! My Belgian husband love it and so did I!!!!!! So super moist.
This is decadent and really special!
Absolutely to die for! Everyone loved this cheesecake.
This cheesecake has it all! Deep, rich, truffly lightness, and crunch with the shortcake and toffee. It has been a huge hit every time I've served it, and won the blue ribbon at the company bake sale!
I made this for a special tea. It looked so professional that everyone thought that I purchased it from a bakery! Not only did it look wonderful, but it was absolutely delicious, too! I would definitely make this again.
Made this for New Years. My family just loved it. It is delicious! Will make again.
This cake was a huge hit last Christmas. I'm more of a Vanilla lover and yet, I thought this was terrific!
This is one of my family's favorite recipes. It is very easy to prepare and looks beautiful every time. Friends are always quick to request this at get togethers. A dream for chocolate and cheesecake lovers both.
