Becky has spent her entire career cooking and baking, which are also her favorite hobbies outside of work. For her, time spent in the kitchen not only relieves stress, but is lots of fun as well. Spider cookies with sugar cookie bodies and licorice legs are a fun and scary treat for Halloween.

Made these cookies with my daughter's cooking class and while the dough was delicious, the final cookie was nowhere near as puffy as shown in these pictures. Nowhere in the recipe did it state to chill the dough. Thankfully I decided at the last minute to put it in the freezer for 15 minutes or six 5-8 year olds would have had nothing but mess in their hands. I probably should have chilled the dough again after rolling in the sugar, but since the recipe didn't call for it, I didn't have enough time before the kids were picked up. Very disappointed in the writing of this recipe. But all that aside, the cookies were tasty and the kids had fun making them.
I have 2 girls and we bake lots of different halloween treats every October. Last year we made these spider cookies. They were very easy to make, but make sure you put the spider legs in while the cookie is still warm. They presented well and were delicious.
I plan on using this reciepe for the church bake sale. The children will love them
