Old-fashioned oatmeal cookies are a cookie jar favorite.
Heat oven to 375°F. Combine all ingredients except flour in large bowl. Beat at low speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed. Stir in flour until well mixed.
Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls, 2 inches apart, onto lightly greased cookie sheets. Bake 8-12 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Let stand 1 minute; remove from cookie sheet.
Chocolate Drizzled Oatmeal Cookies: Prepare and bake cookies as directed above. Melt 1/2 cup real semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips and 1 tablespoon shortening. Drizzle mixture over cooled cookies.

This recipe is the best of all oatmeal cookies.. i also add walnuts, chocolate chips, and they never last more than two hours.. I have to hide some if i want them to last. they are the best ever!!
This is the oatmeal cookie recipe I've been looking for! I added some cinnamon, they're the right amount of chewy and not cakes at all
I made this recipe Gluten Free and it's the best oatmeal cookie I've ever made -- Gluten Free or not!I followed the recipe but used a GF flour blend I purchased, added 1 teaspoon of Xantham gum and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and 6 ounces of raisins.I reduced the baking temp to 350. I use both a Teflon cookie sheet and a professional shinny aluminum cookie sheet. I line both with non-stick foil (one less thing to wash). The Teflon pan takes 11-12 minutes and the shinny pan takes 12-13 minutes to bake.
COOKIES WERE DRY AND HEAVY, NOT CRISP AT ALLI TRIED FOOD NETWORKS CRISPY OATMEAL COOKIES AND THEY WERE EXCELLENT

Worst cookies recipe I ever made. A waste of a cup of butter and sugar. Fed them to my squirrels and they turned up there nose at them too. Second batch I added 1/4 cup apple juice as a binder and so they would rise. Since liquid is not called for the cookies just fall apart in crumbs without a binder. Still looking for my Betty Crocker Cookie Book from the 50'S.

I just complete this recipe. I made half the batch as it is only my husband and I, but these cookies were amazing!! I did take it upon myself to add about a teaspoon of ground cinnamon in because to me, that ingredient makes an oatmeal cookie. I had my husband taste test my final product and he said they were very good! He is pretty picky on oatmeal cookies, but loved these. I bet they won't last 3 days in this house :) He much prefers these over my sugar cookies I made him the other day! And I must say there is something "Home-y" about freshly made oatmeal cookies!! This will be my go to recipe for these from now on!!
I have made this recipe several times now and I can honestly say these are the best ever oatmeal cookies!! My husband loves these cookies. They are the only cookies he ever wants me to bake. I have to hide some cookies in the freezer just so he doesn't eat the whole batch.
My daughter made these, they were the best ever. Now I make them, but I bake them longer cause I love them crunchier. This is now one of my favorite cookies.
Yummy! I added a touch of cinnamon, because I cannot imagine oatmeal cookies without it. This will be added to my favorite cookie recipes. Next time will try with golden raisins.

follow cookie recipe,but make these filled cookies with a date paste,using a filling made up of 1C. chopped dates and 1/4C. lemon juice cooked 'til smooth then cooled,spread between 2 cookies.yum

I just made this recipe, this morning. I addeed 300 grams of semi sweet chips and two handfuls of crushed walnuts. Thought I would try it out, before the Christmas season approaches. I'm 47 and can cook up a storm but baking is not my thing. These are fantastic! I will make them for my daughter and family come Christmas when they visit. Sean's asleep as he works shifts but when he wakes up, I'm sure he will agree!
I can't make these fast enough, when suddenly they disappear . Crunchy and chewy, what a combo!!!Besides tasting great, it's a healthy snack for the kids and your someone special!
I make these every year for Thanksgiving. They make a ton and are always wiped out. I add chocolate chips and walnuts. DELICIOUS!

My mother was craving oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, and these were perfect! I added 2 cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips to the recipe and they turned out moist and delicious! I will make them again! :
These are great cookies, especially when chocolate chips and pecans are added to them. They are crisp on the edges and chewy on the inside. With 12 oz. of chocolate chips and 2/3 cup chopped pecans, I got 5 dozen cookies. These keep well in the freezer.
I made them once this week and they went so fast I am about to make them again. My teenagers liked them and that says alot.
These really are the best ever oatmeal cookies. We made 3 batches... first two batches we added rasins - OMG WONDERFUL! the 3rd batch - we put 1/2 dark chocolate chips and 1/2 chopped pecans. THese were amazing! Can't wait to do other combinations. These were really fast and easy to make too!
My absolute favorite cookie recipe of all time! To make it healthier, I use whole wheat flour. But honestly I get about 70 cookies per batch and they are gone within three days. They are the perfect base cookie, meaning you can add pretty much anything on top that you want. I love to add peanut butter cups or any type of candy. Try them you will not be disappointed!
These are wonderful and I have tried far too many oatmeal cookie recipes! I've made them three times already and the last time I made them, I added cocoa, chocolate chips and coconut.
made these for the holidays and everyone ranted and raved about then wanting the recipe. they were VERY easy to make and were very moist
My daughter-in-law and I made these one night when we were have the "munchies". We added a package of chocolate bits. They are wonderful! That solved our "munchy" problem, for sure.
I make cookies at Christmas and always have little bags of coconut, nuts etc in my fridge until next Christmas. To remedy this, I made this recipe, split the dough in half and added my leftover coconut to one batch and leftover walnuts to the other half. Be careful not to over bake, pull them out of oven when they begin to brown-no later!
It was easy and fun to make. The kids enjoyed it.
