Sugar & Spice Pumpkin Seeds

Pumpkin seeds make a sweet and spicy treat.

Ingredients

1 cup pumpkin seeds
3 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons LAND O LAKES® Butter, melted
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Dash ground pepper

Directions

Heat oven to 300° F. Remove pumpkin seeds from pumpkin; rinse well. Pat dry on paper towel.







Combine remaining ingredients in medium bowl; add pumpkin seeds. Toss until seeds are coated.







Spread coated seeds onto parchment-lined 15x10x1-inch jelly-roll pan. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, stirring occasionally, until seeds are lightly browned and crunchy. Cool 10 minutes. Break apart. Store in container with tight-fitting lid.

We did these last year and now my daughter just asked to do them again.Not too sweet,We like them.

My childred wanted me to make them something with the pumpkin seeds. I tried this recipe and they loved it. They took some to school and their classmates enjoy them! Here it is fall again and they are begging for more pumpkin seeds. Good source of fiber too!

The sugar burns in the oven and the pumpkin seeds taste burnt. The seeds are fine but the sugar coating tastes terrible.
