These ever so moist pumpkin bars are topped with a truly delicious buttercream frosting.
Heat oven to 350°F.
Combine all bar ingredients in bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed.
Pour batter into greased 15x10x1-inch baking pan. Bake 25-35 minutes or until bar springs back when touched lightly in center. Cool completely.
Combine powdered sugar, butter and vanilla in bowl. Beat at medium speed, gradually adding enough milk and scraping bowl often, until desired spreading consistency. Stir in pecans. Frost cooled bars. Cut into bars.
*Substitute 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger, 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg and 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves.

These bars were so easy to make and they are incredibly yummy!! Makes a big batch, so it would be good for a party or big event!

This is one of the best pumpkin recipes I've ever tried. So moist and delicious -- just fabulous! I mixed the dry ingredients separately, however, assembling the recipe in a more traditional way.
I made these bars in smaller pans and the recipe turned out great! I will definitely make these again. The frosting tasted just like cream cheese frosting. Delicious!
I baked in a 13x9 and added 10 minutes on to the bake time. These bars are moist and delicious. I love the spices.
I made those for my daughter to take to work. Plus us. They are so good. Makes a nice gift.
I honestly don't understand all the raves and stars. This was just okay. Didn't have the size pan called for, mine was a little smaller. This made the "bars" almost like a cake and almost 2 inches high. Was very moist but just didn't do it for me. I substituted cream cheese icing though and that saved them.
I have made this recipe numerous times.......its the BEST!!....its decadent....and it makes SO MUCH!!! We enjoy some and I package up the rest of the squares and take it to some of my neighbours during Thanksgiving..... (I put a bit more cloves and cinnamon in) C. Reinheller

Very good! Moist and flavorful. Also, I made pumpkin buttercream frosting by adding 1/4 cup pumpkin puree plus teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice.
I made these bars for a Teacher Dinner during Parent-Teaher Conferences. They were so popular, I made them again for Teacher Appreciation Week. Our teachers do like treats! This was easy to make & delicious. It's great for feeding large groups. I plan on making another batch to bring to a large 50th Anniversary Party.
I thought the icing was too sweet, as did some of those I served it to. I increased the seasoning a little which enhanced the flavor. I'll make it again but will adjust the recipe to suit my audience.
This recipe was very good. Not overly spiced as the recipe may imply. Moist with delicious icing. A definite family favorite!
