Amy's Mud Puddles

Chocolate cookies, drizzled with glaze, will disappear fast.

1 (11.5-ounce) package (2 cups) milk chocolate chips*
1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
2 cups all-purpose flour


1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 to 4 teaspoons milk or water


Heat oven to 350°F. Melt butter and chocolate chips in 2-quart saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly, until smooth (5 to 10 minutes). Remove from heat. Add condensed milk; stir until smooth. Add flour; mix well.

Shape rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into 1-inch balls. Place 1 inch apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 6 to 8 minutes or just until set. (DO NOT OVERBAKE.) Cookies may appear slightly under baked. Cool completely.

Meanwhile, combine powdered sugar and vanilla in small bowl. Gradually stir in enough milk for desired glazing consistency. Drizzle over cookies.

*Substitute real semi-sweet chocolate chips.

These cookies looked good, but the tasted nasty. Kinda chewey with little flavor. I would not waste the time and money making them again.
We loved this! I added about a teaspoon of vanilla and used the dark chocolate chips. Very easy and very delicious!
Quick and delicious - I've made them many times
I needed to make a hostess thank-you gift and scrolled through the on-line recipes at Land O'Lakes. Amy's Mud Puddles jumped out at me because of I had all the ingredients and it appeared easy, yet elegant to package as a gift. The cookies are amazingly easy to prepare and bake. I did substitute vanilla frosting to drizzle as I have never been very good at creating icing from powder sugar. I can't get the liquid portion correct. But drizzling vanilla icing over the top created a beautiful cookie. I had a chinese-take out gift box and viola...a lovely hostess gift! I would definitely make these again and give as a gift. They are easy and rich and look like you spent a lot of time preparing.
These were soooo good. Everyone loved them
It seems something missing inthis recipesuch as egg!
