These brownies are made with two kinds of chocolate and cream cheese, making them absolutely yummy!
Heat oven to 350°F. Line bottom of 13x9-inch baking pan with parchment paper, extending paper over pan edges. Set aside.
Melt 1 cup butter and unsweetened chocolate in 2-quart saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until smooth. Stir in all remaining brownie ingredients except chocolate chips; mix well. Gently stir in chocolate chips. Spread half of batter into parchment paper-lined pan.
Combine all filling ingredients in small bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy. Spread over brownie batter in pan. Spoon remaining batter over cream cheese mixture. (Some cream cheese mixture may show through batter.)
Bake 30-35 minutes or until brownie begins to pull away from sides of pan. Cool completely. Use edges of parchment paper lining to lift bars from pan. Place onto cutting board. Pull back edges of parchment for easy cutting; cut into bars. Store refrigerated.

A cafe I worked at made these and they sold like crazy! We changed a couple things: Put a tablespoon of cocoa powder in the brownie mixture for extra chocolatey-ness. Double the cream cheese topping and put on top of the brownie mixture and swirl in in. And top with a sprinkle of chocolate chips. PS: They are really good right out of the freezer...mmmm
The flavor is awesome but this came out like a cake rather than brownies and the cooking time is off, it took nearly 45 minutes to bake. I think it would be good to use half of the eggs in the brownie mixture to make it less cake like next time.
Loved these brownies. Not hard to make either. Great to take to a pot luck or just have on hand for a nightly snack along with Turkey Hill Columbia Coffee ice cream.
These brownies turned out so good my kids ate them up! I did swirl in the cream cheese and greased the pan instead of using parchment. They were moist and with a strong chocolate flavor which I love. I used the same ingredients, mixing wet than dry. Easy to make and delicious, you can't go wrong....
This has been a family (and friends) favorite for well over 10 years.
my daughter and I make this recipe for EVERY special occasion. We absolutely love it. She is 17 and has been making this recipe with me since she was little. She makes them for all of friends birthdays.. it is THE best brownie recipe ever.
THIS RECIPE IS INCREDIBLE. THE ONLY CHANGE I MADE WAS DOING 4 TABLESPOONS OF BUTTER AND 12 TABLESPOONS OF COCOA POWDER INSTEAD OF THE BAKING CHOCOLATE. EXCELENT RECIPE
The flavor of this recipe was good, but the layers did not work out very well. I would recommend just dolloping the cream cheese mixture on top and swirling.
I LOVE TO BAKE BUT I WASN'T CRAZY ABOUT THIS RECIPE. MAYBE I WOULD GIVE IT ONE MORE TRY.
