This simple colorful appetizer is made from French bread topped with peppers and Cheddar cheese.
Heat gas grill on medium or charcoal grill until coals are ash white.
butter in 10-inch skillet until sizzling; add garlic powder, onion and peppers. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, 3-5 minutes or until crisply tender. Stir in basil.
Spread cut-sides of bread slice lightly with remaining butter. Place onto grill, butter-side down. Grill until lightly toasted. Turn bread slices over. Divide pepper mixture evenly among toasted bread; sprinkle each with
cheese. Continue grilling until other side is toasted and cheese is bubbly.
