These rich chocolate truffles are pure indulgence.

I have made this recipe literally hundreds of times, for gifts and for selling at bake sales and catered events. I use a small mellon-baller to scoop the well-chilled chocolate mixture, then refrigerate again and dip in melted chocolate and decorate. These are FANTASTIC!!!
I made these about 18 years ago (I bought a little Land O Lakes recipe book in the grocery store). I thought they were delicious and I've made them a few times since. A bit messy to make, but delicious to eat.
I have made other truffles very easily with no problems at all. I tried several times to roll these into balls but was only able to roll them into logs. They were too hard no matter how I tried. I let them sit out and tried to roll one every 5 minutes for 50 minutes. Each time, they melted quickly in my hands and I was only able to roll them into logs not balls. I threw them out and made more to the cappuccino truffles instead.
These are really great! I have made this recipe since LOL first published it (maybe 8 years). You need to keep these chilled because they get soft very quickly but they are very rich and extremely easy to make. And everyone loves them. When I serve them, I put them on a chiller platter to keep them cool and solid.
