As well as a balance of new foods alongside tried and true favorites.
This delicious scone recipes uses cranberries and orange to add extra flavor.
Heat oven to 400°F. Combine flour, 3 tablespoons sugar, baking powder and orange zest in medium bowl; cut in 1/3 cup butter with pastry blender or fork until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Stir in cranberries, 1 egg and just enough half & half until dough leaves sides of bowl.
Turn dough onto lightly floured surface; knead lightly 10 times. Roll into 9-inch circle. Place onto ungreased baking sheet; cut into 12 wedges. (Do not separate.)
Brush with 1 beaten egg; sprinkle with 2 tablespoons sugar. Bake 17-19 minutes or until golden brown. Cut wedges apart; immediately remove from baking sheet to cooling rack.
Meanwhile, combine 1/2 cup butter and orange marmalade in small bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed. Serve butter with warm scones.

This is an excellent recipe for scones! It also works well with other fruit besides cranberries. I just made a batch of strawberry. I sprinkle them with sugar, and don't use the icing.
Very easy and very good. I think next time I might drizzle them with some melted white chips.
I didn't have enough half and half, so used some sour cream. I don't see how they could be any better.
They turned out perfect! Easy, quick and delicious! I used 4 TBSP of heavy whipping cream in place of half and half to make them extra rich and fattening!. I've already passed this recipe on. They make a perfect afternoon treat.
I made this recipe in my counter top convection toaster oven! It came out Fantastic! YUM!
With simple ingredients and recipe, it comes out perfect.
The great thing about this recipe was all the ingredents were things I have on hand! As the nearest store selling mandrine oranges and dried cranberries is 25 miles from home.
I made it without the frosting and it was still delicious.
These scones are terrific. My friends love them and ask me to make them whenever we are having a get together.
Cooking time should be extended to 5 - 7 minutes.
