Simple Fudgy Saucepan Brownies

Fudge brownies make a great, easy weeknight dessert.

Ingredients

Brownie

2 (1-ounce) squares unsweetened baking chocolate
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup all-purpose flour

Frosting

3 tablespoons milk
1 (1-ounce) square unsweetened baking chocolate
2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Directions

Heat oven to 350°F. Combine 1/2 cup butter and 2 squares chocolate in 2-quart saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, 3-5 minutes or until melted. Stir in all remaining brownie ingredients until well mixed.

Spread into greased 8-inch square baking pan. Bake 23-27 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan.

Combine 1/4 cup butter, milk and 1 square chocolate in same saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, 2-3 minutes or until mixture comes to a full boil. Remove from heat. Add powdered sugar; beat until smooth. Stir in vanilla. Spread over warm brownies. Cool completely; cut into squares.

These were okay in a pinch, but I probably wouldn't make them again. There are far better brownie recipes out there.
Hey , this r the best brownies I've ever made from scratch. I had no coco or chocolate squares, for the frosting. I had peanut butter & used that instead. Boy !!! Did they come out so good. This Fri. I'm going too make these for the school bake sale. Going to make 2 pans of brownies , 2 pies, lemon-poppies seed cake & each zucchinis,carrot, pumpkin bread . Can't leave out some cookies, which r going too be Cardamon sugar cookies.That' will round out this bake sale I think.
I made these brownies today and they were so easy and tasted great! you can substitute cocoa powder for the unsweetened chocolate if you dont have any. use 3T cocoa powder + 1T butter for each ounce of unsweetened chocolate needed. works perfectly.
I love making brownies and am always searching for good recipes. After making this recipe, my family said, "Sop looking! This is the best!" It is so easy! I double the recipe and put it in one of those "all edges" brownie pans for 27 minutes. I have also doubled for a 9x13, for 25 minutes. Whatever you do, don't overcook! My son swears they are better the next day.
I LIKED THESE BROWNIES. THEY ARE RICH- SO YOU CAN CUT THEM IN SMALL SQUARES.
OMG!! These were the best brownies I have ever tasted! They were also very easy to make. I followed the recipe exactly, but just added 1 cup of walnuts to the brownie mixture right before I poured it into the pan to bake. This recipe can also be doubled which I recommend because they will be gone in a flash!.
