Cut-out cookies with cream cheese are slightly flakier, softer and richer than traditional butter cut-out cookies.

I found this recipe 18 years ago and I have made it every Christmas since. I cut them out and then frost with colored vanilla frosting then sprinkles. My family requests them as gifts so I package them with other cookies and fudge. No complaints here.
This cookie has allmost no flavor, it needs frosting or chocolate to make it worth eating, however they look great.
We used the larger cutters - the stocking cap & mittens were favorites. The larger size was easier for the kids to decorate. This was one of the easiest batters to roll out. The cookies didn't crumble like a sugar cookie.
Fabulous recipe. They were very popular at a cookie swap I took them to. I topped them with a cream cheese frosting that I whipped up and colored sugar to make them more festive. I will be making them again.
This is "the" cut out cookie recipe you cant go wrong in preparing! It is fabulous and you'll never attempt another cut out cookie recipe again! I always refrigerate over night so the cookie doesnt spread on the pan while baking. Happy Holidays!
This is my favorite cutout cookie recipe (actually it's the only one I use). I think the cream cheese adds to its richness. I always frost them with a cream cheese frosting recipe.
