My mom made these when I was a child, and now my children love them just as much as I did!
Love these moist, flavorful bars. This recipe will definitely be added to my faves!
This recipe is excellent. I made it for a fish fry at our church, and they were gone very quickly. Everyone commented on how good they were!!
I took these to work last week and they were LOVED by all! I used margarine in place of butter, unsweetened applesauce & light sour cream. I also omitted the raisins and pecans because I didn't have them on hand. I didn't have allspice either so I used 1/2 t. ginger and 1/2 t. nutmeg. Next time I will probably cut the sugar in the bars to 3/4 c. and possibly cut it in the frosting too I thought the frosting was too sweet, but my co-workers said it was great!. This is definitely a keeper!
My mom used to make these when I was a child. I was so happy to find the recipe again! They are just as delicious as I remember them. My kids love them as much as I did.

Caramel and cake. The subtle sweetness of the pound cake combined with the browned butter and toasty sugar flavor in the caramel sauce icing creates a dessert well worth the time to make it.
