Applesauce bars with a creamy white frosting are moist and flavorful.
Heat oven to 350°F. Spray 13x9-inch baking pan with no-stick cooking spray. Set aside.
Combine sugar, 1/3 cup butter and egg in bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy. Add all remaining ingredients except raisins. Beat at low speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed. Stir in raisins.
Spoon batter into prepared pan. Bake 25-35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely.
Combine all frosting ingredients except pecans in bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until smooth.
Frost cooled bars; sprinkle with pecans. Cut into bars.

This recipe is excellent. I made it for a fish fry at our church, and they were gone very quickly. Everyone commented on how good they were!!
I took these to work last week and they were LOVED by all! I used margarine in place of butter, unsweetened applesauce & light sour cream. I also omitted the raisins and pecans because I didn't have them on hand. I didn't have allspice either so I used 1/2 t. ginger and 1/2 t. nutmeg. Next time I will probably cut the sugar in the bars to 3/4 c. and possibly cut it in the frosting too I thought the frosting was too sweet, but my co-workers said it was great!. This is definitely a keeper!
My mom used to make these when I was a child. I was so happy to find the recipe again!They are just as delicious as I remember them. My kids love them as much as I did.
