Best Chocolate Buttercream Frosting

This smooth and creamy chocolate butter frosting is perfect to spread over a favorite cake.

Ingredients

1/2 cup Land O Lakes® Butter, softened
2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
Dash salt
1 (1-ounce) square unsweetened baking chocolate, melted
1 tablespoon light corn syrup

Directions

Beat butter in bowl at medium speed until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, cocoa and salt alternately with whipping cream and melted chocolate, scraping bowl often, until well mixed. Stir in corn syrup.

Recipe Tip

This recipe will be enough to frost one (13x9-inch) cake or 12 cupcakes.

Add additional whipping cream, if necessary, for desired spreading consistency.

Delicious! This is my new "go to" chocolate frosting.
This is fantastic butter cream! I finished the cake then spooned the left overs into my mouth - very yummy! Smooth, chocolatey and easy to work with for cake decorating. Not too sickly either.
This frosting tastes ok, but it was very hard to spread. It was too dry and was very difficult to spread on the cake. It actually lifted off the cake when I tried to spread evenly. More whipping cream may help.
