Pecan Cheesecake Bars

This cheesecake bar recipe has a crumb crust topped with a cream cheese mixture.

Crumb Mixture

1 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/3 cup Land O Lakes® Butter, softened
1/2 cup chopped pecans


1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla


Heat oven to 350°F.

Combine flour, brown sugar and butter in bowl. Beat at low speed until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in pecans. Reserve 3/4 cup crumb mixture; set aside.

Press remaining crumb mixture onto bottom of ungreased 8-inch square baking pan. Bake 12-15 minutes or until lightly browned.

Combine all filling ingredients in bowl. Beat at low speed until well mixed. Spread filling over hot, partially baked crust. Sprinkle with reserved crumb mixture; press lightly into filling.

Continue baking 30-40 minutes or until filling is set. Cool completely; cut into bars. Store refrigerated.

Ive been making this recipe for over 35 years. Still have the original LandoLakes box with the recipe on the inside. A family favorite!!
How long would these bars last in the fridge?

I would refrigerate them in a covered container. The bars should be just fine if stored in this way for about a week.

1 cup flour to 1/3 cup brown sugar doesn't seem right to me?? Mad then didn't like the crumble think the measurement are reversed!

I re-checked the ingredients and found the ration of flour to brown sugar is correct. The mixture should be like a crumb crust.

Been making this recipe for years, everybody adores it. People who don't usually like sweets or desserts, ask for seconds. It's also good for people who are allergic to eggs.
I have used walnuts. I also tried them with chocolate chips. They are all wonderful.
You can add chocolate chips or chocolate shavings right before baking.
It is a very good recipe to try
