Candies

1/2 cup butterscotch-flavored chips

1/4 cup Land O Lakes® Butter

3 ounces cream cheese, softened

1 teaspoon maple extract

2 1/2 cups sifted powdered sugar

Topping

1 1/2 ounces semi-sweet baking chocolate

1 teaspoon shortening

How to make

  1. STEP 1

    Combine butterscotch chips, butter, cream cheese and extract in 2-quart saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, 3-5 minutes or until smooth. Remove from heat. Whisk until very smooth. Stir in powdered sugar, 1 cup at a time, until mixture is smooth. Refrigerate 30 minutes.

  2. STEP 2

    Shape mixture into 3/4-inch balls. Place onto waxed paper-lined baking sheet. Flatten balls with bottom of glass to 1/4-inch thickness.

  3. STEP 3

    Melt chocolate and shortening in 1-quart saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly, 1-2 minutes or .until smooth.

  4. STEP 4

    Drizzle melted chocolate over candies with fork. Refrigerate at least 2 hours until firm. Cover; store refrigerated.
