Snickerdoodles are one of the most beloved cookie recipes ever created. The simplicity of sugar and cinnamon will take you back to grandma's kitchen.
Heat oven to 400°F. Combine all cookie ingredients in large bowl. Beat at low speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed.
Stir together 3 tablespoons sugar and cinnamon in small bowl.
Shape dough into 1-inch balls; roll in sugar mixture. Place 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 8-10 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.

This is a wonderful recipe. I halved it and it made about 24 cookies. If I had known the cookies would be so good, I'd have made the full recipe!
These cookies were big, spicy and yummy. If you like giant cookies, I suggest pressing each ball down slightly with the heel of your palm. I also recommend substituting the cinnamon with apple pie spice. It gives the cookies a nice, warm flavor. So happy to have found another great recipe from your site. Keep up the good work!
These came out sticky, I couldn't even roll them in a ball. I wasn't sure what to do. Someone said to add a bit more flour and when I did they tasted nothing like other recipes that I have made in the past. I think something needs to be checked on the ingredients because these are inaccurate.
Very close to Christmas. I am feeling quite nostalgic and wanted o bake the cookies I baked just after I married 45 years ago. These are wonderful! They brought back wonderful memories! I made them for years. Don't know why I stopped!!! Merry Christmas everyone!
I have never made Snickerdoodle cookies before. These were very simple, quick, and delicious!!
I used more butter first time so they were more crunchy. Second time i stuck to recipe and they were thicker, though still delish! This time I added coconut.......yum yum!
Cookie2 cups all-purpose flour3/4 cup coconut flour1 1/2 cups sugar1 cup Land O Lakes® Butter, softened2 Land O Lakes® All-Natural Eggs2 teaspoons cream of tartar1 teaspoon baking soda1 teaspoon vanilla1/4 teaspoon saltSugar Mixture3 tablespoons sugar1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon Heat oven to 400°F. Combine all cookie ingredients in large bowl. Beat at low speed, scraping down mix often.Spray Wilton shaped cookie pan. Scoop out about a tablespoon of dough, then after rolling it into a ball, roll it in the cinnamon and sugar.Bake at 400 degrees for approx. 10 minutesYield: 4 dozen cookies
When they say Land O Lake softened butter, do you use salted or unsalted butter?
I found them to be quite soft and very easy to make in a hurry.
I always use this reciope for my snickerdoodles.They are soft and chewy.I have brought them to several cookie exchanges and they always go fast..

these are like nasty little fluffy bland sugar pancakes! It looks NOTHING like the picture & I followed recipe EXACTLY! YUCK! What a waste ... Snicker doodles are great cookies, but these sweet nasty sponge cakes are not good.
Great cookie. Instead of combining all ingredients and mixing I prefer creaming the butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla together and mixing the dry ingredients together then additng the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture in portions. Additionally, the dough is easier to work with if you chill it for an hour before forming the cookie balls to roll into the sugar/cinnamon mixture.
These are nothing like the snickerdoodles I was looking for (the ones you find in the mall)...they were thick and cake-like, not buttery, thin and chewy. FAIL!

The first time I made this recipe, I took the cookies to work and left them in the pantry. An hour later, I came back to find an empty tray with a note that said "These were the best cookies I've ever eaten." I've never used another snickerdoodle recipe since.

I was out of cream of tarter and had a snickerdoodle craving, so i used 2 teas. baking powder. they werejust as yummy !Lizzie
This has always been a favorite of my kids. They even love to help make them so it is a really great recipe to start the kids to love to bake and cook. If I have nuts I want to get rid of (pecans, macadamias) I chop them up and them them into the cookie batter, too.
An awesome variation to this recipe is to use half the butter and add half a cup of cream cheese. Then add a cup of dried cranberries or dried cherries. Make a delicious cookie!
I made this recipe and it was delish. I did use a half cup of the Land O Lakes cinnamon butter and a half cup of butter. Truly wonderful cookies. Thank you Land O Lakes for being so awesome and making me look like the best baker ever!
Just made these as part of my Christmas baking. They turned out great. They were very easy and taste good.
I made these for an office treat. It was a warm summer evening so instead of baking the cookies, I put the dough in a 9x13 pan and made bars. Lots of compliments!
These are the best snickerdoodles I've ever made. The cookies were gone in less than a day. Every one loved them. I had no problems with this recipe. The cookies came out perfectly. This is the only snickerdoodle recipe I will use from now on!
I made snickerdoodles using a recipe from a very famous cookbook, and they were terrible, so i came to this site and found this recipe and it turned out fantastic. They taste great. But I do agree with one reviewer, turn the heat down to 375 if your cookies aren't spreading but are browned on the bottom. Also, I would mix the flour, salt, tarter, and baking powder together and then mix into the butter mixture. Mixes the baking powder in so cookies arent bitter.

I WOULD RECOMMEND TRYING ONE COOKIE AT THE DEGREE THEY SAY AND 8MIN TO SEE HOW THAT COOKIE TURNS OUT AND THEN ADJUST TO YOUR OVEN. MY FIRST COOKIE ALMOST BURNED WHEN I DID IT AT 400 FOR 8 MIN. I MADE THE 51/2 DOZEN WITHIN 45 MIN. AND THEY WERE READY TO EAT. THIS RECIPE REMINDED ME OF THE SANDIE COOKIES THAT OUR CHARLEY CHIP MAN USE TO SELL DOOR TO DOOR. LOVED THEM WILL KEEP THIS RECIPE FOR ALL MY COOKIE TRAYS I MAKE.
These cookies are the bomb! I've never really knew what snickerdoodles were until I got a request from the fire dept to make them I use to take my little boy to drop off homemade cookies to the fire depts. I used this recipe and much to my delight, they were a hit! I entered them into two county fairs and won blue ribbons both times! Wahooo.... munch em up !!! Thanks Land-O-Lakes!

These cookies are so delicious. The cinnamon and butter flavor are just great. They are so easy to make. I didn't even bother to use the mixer. I used a wooden spoon, creamed the butter and sugar then added the egg and the remaining ingredients and mixed them. They turned out great. Thanks for this recipe
I made these cookies this morning and they are wonderful. My husband came home from an appt. and couldn't keep his hands out of them. I will definitely make these again.

These cookies are terrific if you are a snickerdoodle fan!!! Very easy to prepare and bakes up perfect! The taste is buttery and the cinnamon does'nt over-power the cookie! One of my favorite recipes!!!

I made these cookies for the first time last week, and they are to die for!I flattened the balls and sprinkled them with the remaining sugar/cinnamon mixture for a little extra zing.This one is a keeper.
