Sweet potato recipe enhanced with crunchy sugared pecans! Try it as a Thanksgiving side dish, loaded with flavor to complete the meal.
Combine sweet potatoes and enough water to cover in 4-quart saucepan. Cook over high heat 5-6 minutes or until water comes to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-high. Cook 30-35 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Drain. Cool slightly. Peel potatoes.
Heat oven to 375°F. Place sweet potatoes and all remaining potato ingredients in large bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until smooth.
Spoon potato mixture into lightly greased 2-quart casserole. Cover; bake 20-25 minutes or until heated through.
Meanwhile, melt 1 tablespoon butter in small nonstick skillet until sizzling; add pecans and sugar. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, 2-3 minutes or until pecans are golden. Remove from heat.
Just before serving, sprinkle potatoes with pecans and green onions.

This is a definite hit. I added a bit of crumbled bacon to the topping . . .YUM!
Oh my goodness, this is terrific! My family is not fond of sweet potato dishes that are overly sweet. This one has just a hint of sweetness, mostly coming from the sugared pecans, but the true flavor of the sweet potatoes shines through. Also, I didn't have green onions but fresh chives worked great.
I made this side dish last Thanksgiving and it was delicious! Everyone raved about it. It was so good I'm making it again this year.
This is a terrific terrific recipe and a real crowd pleaser! Simple to make and I loved eating the leftover portion for myself!
When it comes to anything with Sweet Potatoes, I tend to not like it, but this recipe was really good. This will be on the menu for Thanksgiving for sure! Thanks for the recipe!
Another good Thanksgiving sidedish, well received by everyone, not too sweet like the recipes with marshmallows. Nice touch with the green onion topping!
This is our third year of making this at Thanksgiving-new tradition and everyone's favorite! What's really nice is you can make it ahead-nummy!
