The fudgy batter is sprinkled with brown sugar and chocolate chips so there’s no need to frost this easy cake.
Heat oven to 350°F. Grease 8-inch square baking pan; set aside.
Combine flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda and salt in bowl. Add milk, butter, egg and vanilla. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed. Stir in pecans.
Spread batter into prepared pan. Sprinkle with brown sugar; sprinkle with chocolate chips.
Bake 25-30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely.

I think the issue with the cake being dry for the previous rater was the recipe on the box calls for an entire stick not a half. Everyone I have shared this cake has loved it. It is definitely one that we will have again and again!
The cake seemed a little dry. Half of family liked it the other half didn't.
