Pecan pie that is sure to become a tradition on your dessert table.
Heat oven to 375°F.
Combine flour and salt in bowl; cut in butter with pastry blender or fork until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in enough water just until flour is moistened. Shape into ball; flatten slightly.
Roll out dough on lightly floured surface into 12-inch circle. Fold into quarters. Place dough into 9-inch pie pan; unfold, pressing firmly against bottom and sides. Trim crust to 1/2 inch from edge of pan. Crimp or flute edge. Set aside.
Combine corn syrup, brown sugar, eggs, butter, vanilla and salt in bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed. Stir in pecans.
Pour into crust. Bake 50-55 minutes until center is set. Cool completely.
Top each serving with whipped cream, if desired.

This is a super easy recipe to make BUT it yielded so little filling that the 9 inch pie plate was only half full. The finished pie looks less than generous. Also, the cooking time can be reduced given how little filling there is. Will, taste test it on Xmas Day.

I looked for a pecan pie recipe with less sugar than most. Tried this one and will never use any other recipe again. Only thing different is that I used a cup of coarsely chopped pecans instead of halves.
My family loves this recipe. It's always the first dessert to go and someone always tries to steal a whole pie. I always have to make at least 2.
My Dad's favorite pie is pecan. He is from Oklahoma and loves Pecan Pie. He enjoyed this version very much.
I sent for this Land O Lakes pie receipe 35 years ago and still bake it every Thanksgiving and Holidays. Its the best!
I made this for Thanksgiving. My husband is very picky about his pecan pie. He doesn't like the overly sweet ones. He said that this was the best pecan pie he had ever eaten. All of the other guests loved it as well. I will definitely be making this pie every Thanksgiving. Very easy recipe. Excellent crust!
