Pretzel Caramel Chip Cookies

Pretzel caramel cookies are both sweet and salty and make lunchtime something to look forward to.

Ingredients

1 cup Land O Lakes® Butter, softened
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 cup sugar
2 Land O Lakes® All-Natural Eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 (10-ounce) package milk chocolate and caramel swirled baking chips
1 cup chopped pretzels

Directions

Heat oven to 375°F. Combine butter, brown sugar and sugar in bowl. Beat at medium speed until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla; continue beating, scraping bowl occasionally, until well mixed. Add flour, baking soda and salt; beat at low speed until well mixed. Stir in baking chips and pretzels.

Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned around edges. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheets; remove to cooling rack.

Recipe Tip

Any salted pretzel without savory flavor added will work for this recipe.

i am making these right now . i used chocolate and butterscotch chips , added extra of both chips and pretzels (just eyeballed it till i liked the amount ) very good..
When making cookie dough is it necessary to refrigerate the dough before baking it? I find that the edges burn quicker if I do not cool first.

Refrigerating cookie dough, particularly like the dough in this cookie, helps to ensure the cookie will not be so flat when it is baked. I often refrigerate the dough about 30 minutes before baking the cookies.

I am a caramel and chocolate lover and this was right up by alley. I could not find the caramel swirl chocolate chips so like a previous commentor I used the chocolate/butterscotch chip combo. The only thing I will change when I make them again is to add more crushed pretzels.
This recipie is very easy and requires very little ingredients outside the average kitchen cupboard. I put a little spin on my cookies. I wasn't able to find the choco/carmel chips so I used choco chips and butterscotch chips (plus the pretzels). My coworkers were raving all day! :)
This cookie was delicious although I did make some creative changes with the recipe. I did not have any of the chocolate and caramel swirled chips so instead I used chocolate chips and a partial bag of caramel bits (used to be melted for caramel apples)....totally delicious blend of sweet and salty! A definite hit with my family!
I love these cookies!! My new favorite. Very moist!
