1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup toffee or milk chocolate toffee bits
1/4 cup coarse grain sugar
24 milk chocolate star candies
Combine butter and brown sugar in large bowl; beat at medium speed until creamy. Add egg and vanilla; continue beating until well mixed. Reduce speed to low; add flour, baking powder and salt. Beat until well mixed. Stir in toffee bits. Cover; refrigerate 30 minutes.
Heat oven to 350°F. Place coarse grain sugar into small bowl. Shape dough into 1 1/4-inch balls. Press 1 chocolate candy into each ball; shape dough around candy to completely cover. Dip tops of balls in sugar. Place 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until edges begin to brown. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet; remove to wire cooling rack.
Milk chocolate stars can be found in bags in the candy aisle, or look for them in the bulk candy bins at the supermarket.
