1 sweet onion, cut in half, sliced
1/2 pound lean ground beef*
2 cloves fresh garlic, chopped
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning*
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 (10- to 14-ounce) round prepared Italian pizza crust
1/2 cup prepared Alfredo pasta sauce
1 small (1/2 cup) red bell pepper, coarsely chopped
4 ounces (1 cup) shredded mozzarella cheese
Heat oven to 425°F.
Melt butter in skillet until sizzling; add onion. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, 20-25 minutes or until onion is browned and caramelized. Remove onion mixture from skillet; set aside.
Place ground beef and garlic into same skillet; cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, 5-6 minutes or until browned. Drain off fat. Stir in onion mixture, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper.
Spread Alfredo sauce over pizza crust. Top with ground beef mixture, bell pepper and mozzarella cheese. Bake 10-12 minutes or until cheese is melted.
*Substitute Italian sausage, eliminating Italian seasoning.
