Philly Cheese Steak Strata

Favorite sandwich ingredients are baked in an easy egg dish.

1 medium (1 cup) green bell pepper, sliced
1 medium onion, sliced
12 (3/4-ounce) slices Land O Lakes® Deli Swiss Cheese
4 cups cubed 3/4-inch French bread slices
1 cup shredded cooked roast beef
1 cup milk
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons steak sauce


Melt butter in 10-inch skillet until sizzling; add green pepper and onion. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until crisply tender (5 to 7 minutes).

Stack cheese slices; cut into thin strips. Coarsely chop.

Place 2 cups bread cubes onto bottom of greased 2-quart baking dish. Top with 1/2 cup beef, half of green pepper mixture and 1 cup cheese. Repeat by layering remaining bread, beef, pepper mixture and cheese.

Whisk together all remaining ingredients in medium bowl. Pour over ingredients in baking dish. Cover; refrigerate 8 hours or overnight.

Heat oven to 375°F. Bake, covered, 20 minutes. Uncover; continue baking for 20 to 25 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.

Recipe Tip

To shed beef easily, use two forks to tear beef apart.
