Lighten Up Turkey, Tomato & Basil Grilled Cheese

A few smart choices like 2% cheese and thin bread makes this grilled cheese full in flavor but lighter in calories.

4 whole grain round thin sandwich buns
4 teaspoons Land O Lakes® Butter, softened
4 teaspoons Dijon mustard
8 ounces sliced deli turkey
4 slices tomato
4 to 8 fresh basil leaves


Spread cut-sides of each sandwich bun with 1/2 teaspoon butter.

To assemble each sandwich, place bottom side of sandwich bun, buttered-side down. (The buttered side will now be the outside of sandwich.) Spread with 1 teaspoon mustard. Top with 1 cheese slice, 1/4 turkey, 1 tomato slice, 1 to 2 basil leaves and 1 cheese slice. Place top of sandwich bun, buttered-side up, over cheese.

Heat 12-inch skillet or griddle over medium heat. Place 2 sandwiches into skillet; cook, turning once, until golden brown and cheese is melted (4 to 6 minutes). Repeat with remaining sandwiches.
