The cheese and sausage filling is delicious in this spicy game day favorite.

Heat oven to 425°F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper; set aside.
Cut top off each pepper; cut each in half lengthwise. Scoop out center membrane and seeds; set aside.
Place 5 slices cheese in food processor bowl fitted with metal blade. Pulse until crumbled. Add cream cheese; pulse until well combined. Combine cheese mixture and sausage in medium bowl.
Spoon mixture into large resealable freezer bag; cut off 1 corner. Pipe filling into each pepper half.
Place peppers onto prepared baking sheet. Bake 12-15 minutes or until peppers are softened and cheese is lightly browned.
Place 1 strip cheese onto each popper, if desired. Bake 1-2 minutes or until melted. Serve warm.
Be careful when handling jalapeños, the oils in the pepper can irritate the skin. Wash hands immediately after handling or wear disposable gloves.
