Beef & Asparagus Stir-Fry

This popular stir-fry is a favorite dish to order in Chinese restaurants. Now you can serve it for your family.

1/4 cup water
1/4 cup lite soy sauce
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper


3/4 pound pre-cut beef stir-fry meat
1/2 pound fresh asparagus spears, trimmed, cut into 1-inch pieces*
1 (16-ounce) package fresh stir-fry vegetables **
Hot cooked rice, if desired


Stir together all sauce ingredients in small bowl. Set aside.

Melt butter in 12-inch nonstick skillet or wok; add beef. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, 6-8 minutes or until meat is browned.

Add sauce, asparagus and vegetables. Cover; continue cooking, stirring occasionally, 6-8 minutes or until mixture thickens and vegetables are heated through.

Serve over hot cooked rice, if desired.

*Substitute 1 (10-ounce) package frozen cut asparagus.

**Substitute 1 (16-ounce) package frozen pepper stir-fry vegetable combination.
