Skillet Lasagna

Take the fuss out of lasagna with this quick and easy stove-top recipe beginning with flavorful Sauté Express® Meal Starter.

6 ounces (2 1/2 cups) uncooked dried mafalda or bowtie pasta
1 pound lean ground beef
3 cups fresh baby spinach leaves
1 (14.5-ounce) can diced tomatoes
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese


Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain; set aside.

Melt Sauté Express® squares in 12-inch nonstick skillet over medium heat just until bubbles begin to form.

Place ground beef into skillet. Cook 4-6 minutes or until browned. (Do not drain beef.)

Add spinach and diced tomatoes. Cook 2-3 minutes or until spinach is wilted and heated through. Add cooked pasta. Stir until well mixed.

Sprinkle with cheese. Continue cooking, without stirring, 2-3 minutes or until cheese is melted.

Absolutely great! My family of 5 ate it all, including my 6 year old. Used ground turkey, added a spinach and kale mixture and this was a GREAT dish. Quick easy and healthy!
I made with ground turkey and my family loved it (all picky eaters), very simple and quick!
I made this for dinner and I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to make, alot less work than traditional lasagna. I'm definitely making this again in the future.
My husband and 4-year old daughter are both VERY picky eaters, but everyone LOVED this dish. The herb saute express squares added just the right seasoning and I was thankful that I was able to get them to eat spinach this way. The only variant I had was that I used a can of "diced tomatoes with basil, garlic, and oregano" and added a pinch of salt to bring out the flavors more.
I made this recipe for my husband and twin toddlers--it was a hit! Will definitely make it again!
I made the recipe this morning for later but had to taste it -- WOW! Delicious. Easy to make and taste was perfectly seasoned. I used mini-bow ties, about 1-3/4 cup as I also added 8 oz. of small button mushrooms, which I left whole. I sauteed them with the meat once it was no longer pink. I will definitely make this again. Thanks LOL!
