Doughnut Mug Cake

The taste of a doughnut -- baked quick and easy in the microwave.

2 tablespoons Land O Lakes® Butter
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon milk
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg


1 teaspoon Land O Lakes® Butter, melted
1 teaspoon cinnamon sugar


Place butter into large coffee mug; microwave 30-45 seconds or until melted. Add all remaining cake ingredients; mix well with fork.

Microwave 60-90 seconds or until cake pulls away from sides and top is dry. (Do not overcook.) Cool slightly. Drizzle with melted butter; sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.

Recipe Tip

Coffee mug should be at least 12 ounces.

its alright I used a little bit of coffee creamer with the milk I think it would be better with a different topping though like a glaze or powdered sugar
When I made this I accidentally left out the egg but it still tasted great! Its a little dry but still yummy.
So simple and easy to make! Next time I'll add some vanilla extract and omit the egg yolk for some oil (as it smelt a bit eggy) but a lovely dessert or midnight snack!
I just made this recipe. I had to use margarine as I didn't have butter on hand. I also substituted pumpkin pie spice for the nutmeg and I rolled it in a little bit of margarine then a little plain sugar and it was absolutely delicious! I had been making chocolate mug cakes for awhile now and just could not stand another! This will by my favorite mug cake for a long time to come! I will use butter next time and cook it for 60 secs only (I did 90 and it was a little overdone but still good and fluffy!).
I made this recipe and modified it to be gluten free and it was so easy and a BIG hit with the family. To make GF, substitute the flour for the Land 'O Lakes GF flour blend and add 1/4 tsp xanthum gum to the mix and cook for 60-75 seconds in the microwave. This was great!
