Birthday Party Mug Cake

Give this easy gift as a way to help celebrate the special day.

2 tablespoons Land O Lakes® Butter
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon decorator sprinkles


Aerosol whipped cream, if desired


Place butter into large coffee mug; microwave 30-45 seconds or until melted. Add all remaining cake ingredients except sprinkles; mix well with fork. Stir in sprinkles.

Microwave 60-90 seconds or until cake pulls away from sides and top is dry. (Do not overcook.) Cool slightly. Top with whipped cream, if desired.

Recipe Tip

- Coffee mug should be at least 12 ounces.

- To give as a birthday gift, combine all dry ingredients in mug. Place mug in plastic gift bag; tie with ribbon. Attach birthday candle and directions to make cake.

This was super easy and quick to make and came out so good!
This was just ok. It wasn't awful but it wasn't very good either. FYI the batter tastes better than the final product. The cake had awful texture and wasn't as flavorful as I would've liked. While it was nothing to write home about it was certainly better than most mug cakes I have tried.
