Oatmeal chocolate chip cookies - the favorite for kids of all ages!

I've made these cookies many times and they never last long at our after-church coffee hour. A 1/2 cup of miniature semisweet chocolate chips is a good substitute for the nuts. These cookies keep well in the freezer.
My cookies came out flat,greasy,yucky taste to them. I followed the recipe to a tee. I will NOT be using this recipe again.
THIS is a chocolate chip cookie with substance! I add 1 cup of ground flax to the recipe and call this the most healthful cookie yet - a cookie with friendly fiber! The ground flax adds a hint of nut-like flavor. I myself find them very satisfying to eat, and my friends must agree because these disappear faster than "plain, ordinary chocolate chip cookies"!
What a delicious and substancial cookie this is! I just made a batch for a cookie swap and I am positive they will be a big hit.
This recipe is delicious. Try putting a teaspoon of cinnamon in them and it really takes this cookie to the next level. The nuts are a great additive as well...
