3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup orange juice
1 teaspoon freshly grated orange zest
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
2 to 3 tablespoons orange juice
14 orange-flavored fruit slices, cut into thirds, if desired
Heat oven to 350°F.
Combine brown sugar and butter in bowl. Beat at medium speed until creamy. Add sour cream, 1/4 cup orange juice, egg, orange zest and vanilla; continue beating until well mixed. Add flour, baking powder and baking soda; beat at low speed until well mixed.
Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls, 2 inches apart, onto parchment-lined cookie sheets. Bake 11-12 minutes or until set. Cool completely.
Stir together powdered sugar and enough orange juice in bowl for desired glazing consistency. Glaze each cooled cookie; top with fruit slice, if desired.
