3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 cup orange juice
1 teaspoon freshly grated orange peel
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
2 to 3 tablespoons orange juice
14 orange-flavored fruit slices, cut into thirds, if desired
Heat oven to 350°F. Combine brown sugar and butter in large bowl. Beat at medium speed until creamy. Add sour cream, 1/4 cup orange juice, egg, orange peel and vanilla; continue beating until well mixed. Reduce speed to low; add flour, baking powder and baking soda. Beat until well mixed.
Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls, 2 inches apart, onto parchment-lined cookie sheets. Bake for 11 to 12 minutes or until set. Cool completely.
Stir together powdered sugar and enough orange juice in small bowl for desired glazing consistency. Glaze each cooled cookie; top with fruit slice, if desired.
