Caesar Chicken Pasta

This easy-to-make chicken and pasta recipe contains a light Caesar sauce topped with crisp, browned croutons.

Ingredients

7 ounces (2 cups) uncooked dried penne pasta
8 (3/4-ounce) slices Land O Lakes® Deli Provolone Cheese, cut into quarters
2 cups chopped cooked chicken
3/4 cup fat free creamy Caesar salad dressing
1/2 cup reduced sodium chicken broth
1/3 cup chopped green onions
1/4 cup finely chopped red bell pepper
1 1/2 cups Caesar-seasoned croutons
1/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

Directions

Heat oven to 350°F. Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain.

Combine cheese and all remaining ingredients except cooked pasta, croutons and Parmesan cheese in large bowl; mix well. Add cooked pasta; stir to combine.

Spoon pasta mixture into ungreased 2-quart round casserole. Top with croutons and Parmesan cheese. Bake 20-25 minutes or until heated through and croutons are golden brown.

Recipe Tip

Pasta is made from durum wheat flour called semolina and comes in hundreds of different sizes, shapes and colors. Cook pasta in rapidly boiling water to "al dente", meaning the pasta is slightly firm when chewed. Overcooked pasta is soft from having absorbed too much of the cooking water and will break apart easily when stirred into a casserole.

This salad comes out yummy and nothing complicated , my son loves it so this salad will be on the menu once a week
I didnt have any red peppers so I used frozen peas. Came out very good Will make this easy recipe again thank you Mary
This one is very good! I could not find a Fat Free Caesar dressing so I had to go with a "reduced fat". We will have it again. Loved the tangy flavor!
Great recipe that I make often. Have made for others and they always ask for the recipe. One suggestion...it matters which Caesar Dressing you use. I've tried several and it can totally change the taste of the dish. Marzetti's works well & we especially like Cardini's Caesar Dressing because tastey and not too over powering.
I make this fairly often and change the recipe according to what I have on hand. It's a tasty meal to share and even holds up well the next day. I sometimes just use frozen veggies like frozen peppers or even squash slices. I usually add olives and sun dried tomatoes or artichokes.... I guess anything goes.
Careful on using too much dressing-- it can overpower everything easily.
