Honey-flavored with cinnamon and cardamom spice up this nutritious quick bread recipe.
Heat oven to 350°F. Grease 9x5-inch loaf pan; set aside.
Combine flour, whole wheat flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in bowl. Add buttermilk, butter, honey and eggs; stir just until combined.
Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake 50-60 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes. Remove from pan.
Combine all spiced honey ingredients in 1-quart saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, 3-5 minutes or until mixture comes to a boil. Cool completely. Serve with bread.
*Substitute 4 1/2 teaspoons vinegar or lemon juice plus enough milk to equal 1 1/2 cups. Let stand 5 minutes.

The recipe both looks and sounds delicious. But sadly enough the bread didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped. Maybe I did something wrong but it didn't come out as light as I'd hoped, and it also didn't look like it had mixed well and was kind of dry.. I thought I had mixed it plenty good. It wasn't as tasty as I had imagined either. It wasn't bad, It just was not as good as I had anticipated from the sound of the recipe.
Best bread ever! Everyone loves it and it comes out perfect every time.
This bread was easy to make and was moist and buttery. Really didn't need the Spiced Honey spread as it was sweet enough without.
